Lincoln Parent Involvement

We know, at Lincoln Elementary School, that parent involvement in their children’s education is of foremost importance to having success.  We communicate with parents often and give parents many opportunities to be involved in their child’s education both at home and at school.  The following is a list of ways we continuously keep parents involved at Lincoln:

  • We regularly communicate with parents about their child and the school.
    • o   Teacher weekly newsletters
    • o   School monthly newsletters
    • o   Individual e-mails and phone calls home
    • o   Twice a year we have Parent/Teacher Conferences (plus, as needed conferences)
    • o   Use Blackboard Connect to communicate important information to parents in a timely manner
    • All staff has an “Open Door” policy.  Parents are welcome in to their child’s classroom at any time to observe or help.
    • We have four “Principal Chat’s” a year for parents to discuss current topics with the Principal.
    • Numerous Family Activities a year.
      • o   Meet Your Teacher
      • o   Back to School Barbeque
      • o   Open House and Ice Cream Social
      • o   Holiday Concerts
      • o   Art Gallery Night
      • o   Family Dance
      • o   Spring School Play
