The Alston Baseball team coached by Mike Hayes finished the season with a 9-2 record on their way to a ”Back To Back” 2016 - 2017 Baseball League Championship. When the regular season started, they started off with a 0 -2 record and then went on a 7 game winning streak to finish the regular season as the 3-Peat Champions and the #1 seeded team for the playoff-offs. Alston hosted Greg Middle in the Semi-final game. Alston Tigers took the lead late and defeated Greg Mustangs 4-1 on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Alston Tigers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Mason Lowe induced Gage Lewis to ground out, but two runs scored. Nicholas Vaughn earned the win for Alston Tigers. He pitched three innings, surrendering one run, one hit, striking out three, and walking one. Logan Bledsoe recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for Alston Tigers. Gage Lewis and Walker Richardson each drove in one run to lead Alston Tigers to a 4 - 1 win to advance to the championship against Dubose Middle School.  Alston Tigers defeated Dubose Wildcats 6-3 thanks to a strong start. Alston Tigers scored on a singles, a single by Shane Daly, a groundout, and a single by Walker Richardson in the second inning. Alston Tigers took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Grayson Brasher uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run, Shane Daly singled off of Brasher, driving in one run, there was an error, scoring one run, and Walker Richardson singled off of Brasher, driving in one run. Logan Bledsoe earned the win for Alston Tigers. He tossed four innings, giving up one run, two hits, striking out two, and walking one. Vaughn recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Alston Tigers. Vaughn, Bledsoe, Richardson, Delray Price, Daly, Jalen West, and Eli Stewart each collected one hit to lead Alston Tigers
