Sally Peck joined the Kentfield School District in 2004 and has spent over 35 years as a teacher and an administrator in both public and independent schools.
She holds an undergraduate degree in geography from the University of California Davis and attended the University of California Santa Barbara and San Jose State University for her multiple subject teaching credential and Masters in Educational Leadership. Through classes, professional conferences and workshops, she strives to stay current in the field of education and recognizes the importance of being a lifelong learner while deepening her professional knowledge and expertise.
She believes that educators today must begin to prepare our young people early in their education to be creative thinkers, problem solvers, effective communicators and good citizens. Sally also recognizes children learn best by doing, asking questions, experimenting with ideas, taking risks and by making mistakes. She knows that a child’s learning environment is important and that their early educational experiences are key to fostering a deep appreciation and desire to learn. Elementary school is where the foundational underpinnings of these skills are cultivated and put in place.
In addition to spending time with children, Sally enjoys the outdoors, walking, hiking and skiing. She loves working in the garden, cooking, reading and painting. Her favorite personal moments involve spending time with her family and her friends.
