Migrant Eligibility Screening:
Within the past 3 years have you and your family traveled or moved from one school district, city or state to another to work or look for temporary work in agriculture, livestock, or fishing for economic necessity?
Did the children in your family go with you or join you at a later date?
Do you have a high school aged child under the age of 22 who lacks a U,S. issued high school diploma or GED and is currently not enrolled in school ?
The State Migrant Education Program has guidelines for the Identification and Recruitment process. The following steps below will assist you to provide the required documentation to verify the move.
* Name, address, and phone number of your employer (i.e.,farmer/rancher/company)
* Address and phone number of your employer (i.e. a rent receipt, utility bill, etc.)
* Name of school district, a migrant summer program or name of an early childhood program and city where the child(ren) attended, while the worker performed the qualifying work.
* Copies of documents showing the child(ren) made move with the worker (eg. school records, medical receipts, library card, document from TMIP showing the student was tested, etc.)
