Hello! My name is Rebecca Leger and I serve as the counselor for Dishman Elementary School. Dishman has been my home since we opened the building in 1998. I previously spent 25 years in the classroom as a first grade teacher and the last two years in the position of counselor. As counselor, I serve in many capacities. In my counseling classes, I service all grade levels PK-5 working on topics such as bullying, conflict resolution, and character education. I also take small groups on certain topics and individual students who have specific needs. I am also the Campus Testing Coordinator, which encompasses all areas of testing for grades PK-5. In addition, I am the 504 Coordinator, which means assuring our school’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to persons with disabilities. Our motto at Dishman is, “Striving to be a Champion, Every Day in Every Way.” My goal is to support our teachers in building our future champions.
