Harassment Policy
Students are expected to make Emerson a place where people treat each other fairly. Harassment of any kind is not fair and interferes with the ability to learn. Students who participate in harassment are subject to suspension. Repeated offenses may result in recommendation for expulsion.

Verbal Harassment: Offensive comments, jokes, or slurs, graphic verbal comments about an individual’s body, graphic verbal comments of a sexual nature, or spreading sexual rumors.

Visual Harassment: Offensive posters, cards, cartoons, graffiti, drawings, objects, gestures, and leering.

Physical Harassment: Unwelcome or offensive touching or impeding or blocking of movement.

Bullying: Name calling, threats, rumor mongering and “pantsing” are considered forms of harassment as they create a hostile environment for other students. Students who engage in these behaviors will be suspended. (report a bully)
