Athletics: Track season runs from April 10th through May 23rd.  Register online at

The official grade check will run on March 6th. Any student with two (2) or more failing grades will be ineligible to participate in competitions until grades are brought up.  See the athletic handbook for details.


College Bound Scholarship Program: Washington state is committed to providing full-ride college financial aid to eligible students who sign up in Jr. High and fulfill a pledge to graduate with at least a 2.0 GPA (Grade Point Average), have no felony convictions and complete the FAFSA. If you have received an application please complete and return the form to the FJH office.  We will be happy to mail the form for you. Call if you have any questions.  


Progress Reports: We will be sending progress reports with students on Thursday, March 8th.   We hope that students continue to work with teachers to get their grades up before the end of third quarter on April 13th


Students of the Month: Congratulations to our January Students of the Month- Reyna Ayala, Kaleb Blanton, Matthew Edlin and Eugenia Elena AND our February Students- Kadie Wood, Matthew Wallerstedt, Myra Luong and Hector Garcia-Dominguez.  They were nominated and chosen by their teachers and earn a luncheon with their families as well as other prizes sponsored by the Soroptimist Club.


School Website:  QVSD is changing over to a new website provider.  The new and improved website should be up and running in the next few months.  In the meantime we are doing our best to keep our current webpage at FJH up to date.  If you have any ideas about items to include on the new website please let us know by calling our office.



State Testing Schedule: Please add the following testing dates to your calendar.  We are hoping that all students attend school on test dates to minimize make up days.

8th Grade Science- May 14th-May 16th (make-up dates on May 17th/18th)

7th/8th Grade ELA- May 21st-May 23rd (make-up date on May 24th/25th)

7th/8th Math- May 30th-June 1st (make-up dates on June 4th)



Dress Code Reminder:  As we approach spring we would like to remind families about our dress code policy.  The following attire is not allowed at school.


  • Dresses/skirts, shorts or ripped jeans that reveal skin above the student’s fingertip when standing with hands at one’s side.
  • Tank tops with less than one (1) inch shoulder straps
  • Halter tops or shirts that reveal midriffs
  • Clothing that reveals underclothing
    • Clothing with alcohol, drug, tobacco, sexual references, or that is plainly offensive or derogatory.


Students will be asked to cover up, turn clothing inside out, or call home to get appropriate clothing brought to them if the dress code is violated.



Post-Secondary Family Information Night- We would like to invite families to attend a Post-Secondary Information night on Tuesday, March 13th at 5:00 pm in the Forks Intermediate School Library.  A College Bound representative will provide families with steps that you can take at the Jr. High to get your student thinking about plans beyond high school, whether they are thinking about joining the workforce, technical school or college.


Attendance and Absences- Please remember that you need to clear up absences by calling the office at 360-374-6262 ext. 540 or sending a note with your student upon returning to school. 


Forks Junior High School Yearbook: Don’t forget you can still preorder your yearbook! If you order online the cost is only $16!! Not only do you save money but you also get the opportunity to customize two pages! If you choose to purchase your yearbook at the office the cost is $20. If you have any photos that you would like to submit to the Yearbook staff, please free to email the photos to Forward yearbook questions to email Ms. Taylor at the above email address or call 360-374-6262 ext. 504.

El reviso de grados oficial es el 6 de marzo. Cualquier estudiante que este fallando dos (2) clases o más será ilegible para participar en competiciones hasta que mejore sus grados. Vea el guía de atléticas para más información.


Programa de Becas de College Bound: El estado de Washington está comprometido a dar ayuda financiera para el costo total de colegio a estudiantes elegibles que se apuntan durante la secundaria y cumplen con graduarse con un promedio de 2.0, no tienen felonías y completan la forma FAFSA.  Si usted ha recibido una aplicación por favor complétela y regrésela a la oficina de la FJH.  Estaríamos felices de mandar la forma por correo.  Llame si tiene preguntas.


Reportes de Progreso: Vamos a mandar reportes de progreso con los estudiantes el jueves, 8 de marzo.  Esperamos que los estudiantes sigan trabajando con sus maestros para subir sus grados antes del fin del tercer semestre el 13 de abril.

Página de Internet Escolar: El distrito está en el proceso de cambiar a un nuevo proveedor de página web.  La nueva y mejorada página deberá estar lista en los próximos tres meses. Mientras, estamos haciendo lo posible para mantener la página al día.  Si tiene idea de cosas que incluir en la página por favor háganos saber llamando a nuestra oficina.



Fechas de Exámenes Estatales: Por favor añade las siguientes fechas a su calendario.  Esperamos que todos los estudiantes estén presentes en estas fechas para minimizar las fechas de recuperación.

Ciencia Grado 8: 14 a 16 de mayo (recuperación el 17/16 de mayo)

Lenguaje Ingles Grados 7/8: 21-23 de mayo (recuperación el 24/25 de mayo)

Matemáticas Grados 7/8: 30 de mayo a 1 de junio (recuperación el 4 de Junio)




Recuerdo del Código de Ropa: Ya que la primavera está cerca queremos recordarles a las familias de nuestras reglas de ropa. La siguiente lista de ropa no se permite en la escuela.


  • ·Vestidos/faldas, shorts, o pantalones rompidos que enseñan piel arriba de las puntas de los dedos cuando están paradas con las manos a los lados.
  • ·Camisetas con menos de una (1) pulgada de manga
  • ·Camisas halter o camisas que enseñan el estomago
  • ·Ropa que enseñas ropa interior
  • ·Ropa con referencias de alcohol, drogas, tabaco, sexualidad o ofensiva o derogatoria.


Se les pedirá a los estudiantes que se tapen, volteen su ropa al revés, o llamar a casa por otra ropa si el código de vestuario es violado.



Noche Informativa de Pos-Secundaria- Queremos invitar a las familias a una noche informativa el martes, 13 de marzo a las 5:00 pm en la biblioteca de la escuela intermedia. Un represéntate de College Bound va a proveer pasos que pueden tomar las familias para promover planes después de graduación, sea que piensan trabajar, ir a escuela técnica o a una universidad. 



Asistencia y Faltas- Por favor recuerde que necesita comunicarse acerca de faltas llamando a la oficina a 360-374-6262 x 540 o mandando una nota con su estudiante cuando regresan a la escuela.


Libro Anual de la Escuela: No se le olvide que todavía puede ordenar su libro anual! Si ordena por internet el costo es solo $16!! No solo puede ahorrar dinero pero también puede diseñar dos páginas! Si prefiere comprar su libro anual en la oficina el costo es $20.  Si tiene fotos que quisiera contribuir al club de libro anual, por favor mándelas a Mande preguntas del libro anual a la Srta. Taylor al correo electrónico indicado arriba o llame a 360-374-6262 ext. 504.
