Kindergarten Expectations

Here are a list of skills that Kindergarten will be covering and are expected to mastery by the end of the year

 

Write first and last name, identify, write, count and represent numbers 0-30, count and write by 10’s,  demonstrate an understating of spoken words, syllables, and letter sounds, long and short vowels, identify initial, medial, and final sounds of words, identify consonant blends and digraphs, recognize and write upper and lowercase letters, and with prompting support, identify characters, settings, plot,  measure lengths of objects, add and subtract, place value, ABC order, writing sentences with sight words, rhyming words (orally and written), spell CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant), main ideas, realism and fantasy, nouns, verbs, and adjectives, classify and categorize objects, sort items, and compare and contrast items and read grade level material.
