Students Recognized for Academic Excellence as Duke TIP & Junior Scholars

HMBLMS 6th graders Breanna Scott and Dontavius Mills have been annouced as Duke TIP scholars.  Breanna and Dontavius were selected based on their exceptional grade level test scores.  Only those students scoring in the top 5 percent are eligible to join the Duke University Talent Identification Program.  Breanna is the daughter of Ruby and Nigel Chatman, and Dontavius is the son of Patrice Palmer.



HMBLMS 8th grade student Isheuna Edwards was named a Junior Scholar.   The South Carolina Junior Scholars Program, sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Education, identifies eighth-grade students with exceptionally high scholastic achievement and intellectual ability.   Isheuna is the daughter of Demetrius and Tamika Edwards.  She plans to attend the University of South Carolina after graduation as she prepares to become a pediatric dentist
