Opportunities for Parent Involvement
Teachers Administrators and Parents In Touch (TAPIT)
All parents are invited to join the school’s parent group called TAPIT (Teachers, Administrators, and Parents In Touch). This group is parent-run, has no fees or dues, no required meetings, but does allow access to school information and volunteer opportunities in the classrooms and in the various support areas of the campus. TAPIT meets monthly (optional- first Monday of each month in the Presentation Center). with the principal and other invited school personnel to discuss current issues or just see what is happening at LHS. TAPIT members receive a weekly update of current issues, and can ask questions or register complaints with the TAPIT parent coordinator anonymously—the coordinator will forward the complaint or question directly to the principal, and an answer or response comes back to the coordinator and is forwarded to the originator very quickly—usually the same day.
To join or just inquire about this group, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 924-6600 x 215. TAPIT workers set up a sign up table at Back to School Night and also at the Student Orientation days.
Lemoore Union High School District maintains two district-wide Advisory Committees: the Compensatory Education School Sub-Committee monitors and reviews the District's Chapter I Project in reading and Bilingual Education; and the Vocational Education Sub-Committee concentrates on the District's vocational programs in agriculture, industrial arts, business, and consumer education/homemaking. You are invited to serve on the committees and may do so by calling the Assistant Superintendent at 924-6611.
Each year, a Senior Parent Group is formed for the purpose of structuring senior class activities during the year. This is usually an active committee that needs a lot of helping hands. If you wish to serve on either the Parent Advisory Committee or the Senior Parent Group, please contact the high school Principal’s secretary at 924-6600 x 215.
