McKinley Elementary School understands the importance of parental involvement in the educational process.  We strive to find opportunities for our parents and staff to work together in order to develop an educational environment that meets the social, emotional and academic needs of all students.  At McKinley we seek to strengthen the home and school relationship through the following:


Ongoing Parent Communication Opportunities


  • An Open Door Policy
  • School monthly newsletters
  • Tuesday Folders
  • Individual e-mails and phone calls home
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences (Two times per year)
  • Use of Blackboard Connect to communicate important information to parents in a timely manner
  • Principal Advisory Council (Parents, Teachers & Principal)
