Plumas County has two boards of education. The first is the five member County Board of Education, serving as an advisory board to the County Superintendent of Schools. The board, in conjunction with the county superintendent of schools, serves as the regulatory body for monitoring all public and charter schools within Plumas County.
The Plumas Unified School District Board of Education is composed of five elected board members each responsible for representing the entire district. The board is responsible for governing, organizing and overseeing the financial assets of the Plumas Unified School District. It establishes policies, standards, goals and initiatives to ensure accountability and provide a high quality, world-class education for the 21st century that prepares our students for success in college, work and life.
