Parent Letter from the Guidance Counselor 2017-2018

August 1, 2017

Dear Parents,

We are looking forward to working with your children at Rollings Middle School of the Arts!    Middle school can present some challenges for parents, students, and teachers, but working with this age group is extremely rewarding for us as counselors!

We work with a great Guidance team.  Ms. Familia will work with students with last names beginning with A-L. I work primarily with students with last names beginning with M-Z for individual counseling needs and Ms. Ihrig is our Career Counselor and shares her time between RMSA and ROMS.  The three of us will also provide classroom guidance lessons, small group guidance, and oversee programs such as Duke TIP for 7th graders, The Junior Scholar Program for 8th graders, and character education for all of our students. We will provide career guidance lessons and coordinate IGPs (Individual Graduation Plans) for 8th grade students and parents.  Ms. Veal and Ms. Daly are our Guidance Secretaries and they schedule all conferences and expedite school records.

We are anticipating a wonderful year with your student!  If we can be of assistance to you or your child, please call me at 873-3610.

Sincerely,
