November Food Service News from Sodexo

In November we will be conducting our End it with Orange Stop Hunger Food Drive.  This will be our 5th year and we have donated a little over 5000 pounds of food for the Tosa Cares Food Pantry.  Students can drop off their non-perishable food item at their cafeteria.

Vote and be heard!

In your school cafeteria’s during the month of November, we will provide students the opportunity to vote on their favorite lunch choices as well as vote for a new item that they would like to see in the cafeteria.  We will have voting boxes set up and plenty of stickers to give away as well.  We will conduct random drawings from the ballots to give students the chance to win healthy snacks or a special treat like a cookie.  Let your voice be heard and Vote!!

Back to the Roots:

We are pleased to announce that we will continue our partnership with Back to the Roots this year!  Back to the Roots is an organization committed to urban farming and educating youth about sustainable, healthy nutrition habits. Our intent is to have an even larger impact on youth education via nutrition awareness and hands-on learning in the cafeteria.  We will start the series with the Organic Mushroom Mini Farm.  Students will have the opportunity to watch their Mushroom Farm grow right from the beginning to the harvest.
