Wauwatosa West High School's Steiner Center took on the feel of a press briefing room the morning of Friday, October 27, as junior and senior students had the opportunity to question U.S. Senator Ron Johnson for about 45 minutes, asking about topics ranging from North Korea, trade deals, free speech, and the cost of a college education. The student's questions were impressive.
Sen. Johnson was at Wauwatosa West High School as a guest speaker for a group of about 80 students in the AP United States Government and Politics, AP United States History, and APPSE classes.
The visit was arranged by one of the teachers as an opportunity for students to hear about how policy is made and the challenges of the process directly from someone who works in government. Talk about bringing a U.S. Government lesson to life!
Thanks to Mr. Oliver, Sen. Johnson, and his office for the unique learning opportunity.
