Youth Action Alliance (YAA)


Youth Action Alliance (YAA) is an after school political education intensive that challenges young people to think critically about the impact of prisons and police in their communities. Youth meet twice a week throughout the year to discuss and explore issues related to identity, community, mass incarceration, criminalization, and the school to prison pipeline. YAA creates space for young people to grow as facilitators, engage with transformative justice processes, and attend site visits to learn from other political organizations. Those chosen for the cohort receive $15 for each session they attend. Girls, trans youth, and gender nonconforming youth betwwen the ages of 14-18 are encouraged to apply. Interviws will take place on September 18th.
