Mock Trial Team:
Mock Trial is an academic team here at Lorbeer that will compete this upcoming school year against other middle schools at the county level. The trial itself is a simulation of a criminal case, in which students portray each of the principals in the cast of courtroom characters. Student teams will study a hypothetical case, conduct legal research and participate as lawyers, witnesses, court clerks, and bailiffs, thus acquiring a working knowledge of our judicial system. Since Mock Trial is a competitive team and not simply a club, principal cast members will be expected to be committed to practice so that they can study and learn their roles. All practices will be during lunch and after school but time length and frequency may vary depending on necessity and competition dates. The Mock Trial Program encourages young people to develop their analytical abilities and communication skills while gaining increased self-confidence.
Time: Everyday at lunch from September to November and some after school meetings
