Science Course Descriptions

7th Grade Life Science

Students will be  given a variety of opportunities to develop critical thinking skills by conducting as well as planning investigations and experiments in the following topics: Structures and Processes, Ecosystems, Heredity, Biological Evolution and Engineering Design. These topics will be discovered and investigated via the application of  Cross-Cutting  Concepts (Patterns, Cause and Effect; Scale, Proportion, and Quantity; Systems and  System Models, Energy and Matter, Structure and Function; Stability and Change). The use of Cross-Cutting Concepts will be implemented in order to help students build a foundation of deductive reasoning, that enables recognition of concepts that are  common themes and connections across a variety of curriculum.
