Playground Expectations

  • Students are expected to play safely; games of bodily contact are prohibited. These games include crack-thewhip, tackle football, knockdown tag, games in which one child carries another, bombardment, suicide, etc. In addition, body flips or running backwards are prohibited; jumping fences to retrieve balls is prohibited.
  • Students are expected to use school playground equipment in a respectful and appropriate manner; using playground equipment in a manner for which it was not intended is prohibited; equipment from home is prohibited; softball bats may only be taken to the playground under the direct supervision of a teacher;
  • Students are expected to follow procedures for lining up when the end of recess bell rings. When the bell rings, stop all activity, hold playground equipment with both hands and WALK to the line; do not bounce or throw balls after the bell. In addition, trips to the water fountain or restroom breaks AFTER the bell are prohibited.
  • Students are expected to follow the directions of Campus Supervisors and all school personnel.
