Cafeteria Expectations

♦ California Ed Code does not allow parents to enter the cafeteria during breakfast or lunch hours. Please adhere to this regulation.

♦ Students are expected to be respectful of others and follow all cafeteria rules and procedures:

  1. Line up in an orderly manner; cutting in line is not permitted; bumping into or stepping on others is not permitted.
  2. “Bypassing” the cafeteria in order to lengthen recess time is not permitted.
  3. Be mindful of using cafeteria supplies appropriately, like “spork” packets, condiments, cups, etc.
  4. Follow kitchen food portion requirements as directed.
  5. Sit at assigned tables.
  6. Use “inside” voices.
  7. Respect the food tray and lunch items of others; touching other students’ food trays or lunch items is strictly prohibited. In addition, asking other students for their food items is not permitted. If a student wants to give away a portion of their meal, wait for them to offer it to you.
  8. Leave table and floor areas free of trash.
  9. Raise your hand to leave your seat for any reason (dismissal, missing utensil, to purchase a drink, to visit the restroom, etc.)
  10. Walk at all times!
  11. Mind your table manners at all times! All students will display good table and eating manners to make the dining experience pleasurable and enjoyable for everyone.
  12. Chips, soda, candy and other sugary or fried foods are not part of a healthy lifestyle and therefore not allowed during school hours. Federal Law PL 108.264 Section 204. Healthy snacks may be sent with children to eat at lunch in the cafeteria.
