Attendance in school is the law! All schools are mandated to SART students who have unsatisfactory attendance and have been categorized as Truant. If your child is Truant, a meeting will be scheduled between the principal and the student’s parents to address the attendance problem. If parents fail to attend the SART meeting, the SART contract becomes effective nonetheless. SART contracts that are not honored must be referred (by the Principal) to SARB—Child Protective Services, Pomona Police Department, the Office of the District Attorney, Probation, Department of Child and Family Services, and Department of Mental Health—who are responsible for enforcing mandatory attendance.
